Let me digress.
Before I made and had to apply all of my New Year's resolutions, I had to celebrate. Oh, and I did. My best friend Kayla, our good friend Kyndra, her boyfriend Bryan and our other friend Adam were all in attendance. We decided that Old Chicago was our last meal of the night, but, only because IHOP was closed (I know what you're thinking. IHOP closes?! No worries, we were baffled too.).
So instead, we settled for a pepperoni and sausage pizza and spilling drinks. Unfortunately, there was no live entertainment to help us enjoy our meal, but Kayla flirting with our waiter, who ending up being engaged with a child on the way, was funny enough. We then had the honors of toasting to "the little guy" courtesy of Bryan, who does not have a nerve in his body that would give off 10 seconds of seriousness. It was incredibly cold outside, and in tights, boots and an over sized sweater (fashion can get a little chilly, fellas) I was feeling it. But, no worries. I had gloves and a scarf. All was good.
The car rides to and from Casa de Devin included many 90's pop songs, and many 2007 pop songs. Bryan was the only one in the car that didn't sing MMMBop by Hanson. Off the record, I don't care what VH1 says..that made the top 10 songs of the 90's easy. Anyways, the Hanson brothers were accompanied by some Hannah Montana (Or was it Miley Cyrus?) and of course, the Jonas Brothers.
Speaking of the Jonas Brothers, is there a better way to ring in the new year? The majority of you who had the good fortune of finding this blog are probably vigorously nodding your head and saying "Why yes, Devin, of course there is." I however, have a hard time believing that any of you are looking confused and saying "Who are the Jonas Brothers?". Unless you have chosen to lead an amish lifestyle in which you cannot pass a teen magazine, watch a talk show, listen to a radio or get on the internet, I have to argue that you know them. But, seeing as you're reading this right now, I'll chalk it up to that not being the case! Anyhow, back on topic, I will answer my own question. As a nearly 16 year old teenage girl who loves music and high fashion? There most definitely is not. They have catchy voices with catchy lyrics accompanied by catchy beats. Do the math - they're completely and totally contagious. It also doesn't hurt that they dress better than any young men I have ever seen. Oh, and they're incredibly cute. Hmm. Package deal, anyone? Moral of this long, drawn out story: They had the opportunity to perform on Dick Clark's Rockin' New Years Eve special, and did wonderfully. As a fan of nearly three years- this is a huge deal. They have come so far!!
Needless to say, my guy friends were not excited about having to watch the JoBros dance across the TV while Kayla and Kyndra decided they would share Joe. Every cloud has a silver lining though, because Miley Cyrus soon joined the stage. Tada! No more boy complaints :) Thank you, Miss Cyrus.
After a few songs, it was back to Guitar Hero 3. For only playing twice, I have to say I was DESTROYING every song...on easy. Yeah, I felt pretty good. And then along came Slayer. I love Slayer. I grew up on Slayer. They defeated me, and bad. But, then again, I suppose there's not many other bands I'd like to destroy me. Except maybe, Kiss or Cinderella.
We counted down the final seconds of the year over cider in champagne classes (Thanks, Mommy :D) and then tooted party horns in each other's ears obnoxiously. Kayla and I traditionally stood in my driveway and screamed before heading back inside to listen to Miley mess up her words. "It's been a God year." But, maybe it wasn't such a mess up? After all, wrong context or not, every year is a God year. It's a nice start to the New Year to be reminded that the celebrities you adore are, in fact, human.
It was a great New Years. Good friends, good food and good laughs. I got a call from one of my really good friends, Melissa, on the east coast on HER New Years. Being in two years at once, pretty trippy, huh? Kayla was my New Years kiss-on-the-cheek, and we were up until 4:30 guitar hero-ing it up. Until Slayer came along, telling us we were failures and should just go to sleep.
So, we did.
Oh, and, new Gossip Girl was on last night. I watched it with my mom. As much as I would love to believe that Chace Crawford is in fact in my grade, is that even believable? Come on, CW. Give me something to work with, here.
xoxo-
Devin.

Haha.. I thought Miley did fairly well for not lip singing. And Gossip Girl I totally loved it! =] I was flipping out when I watched Serena walk into the priciples office and confess! I wanted her to blame it on Chuck because I hate him. And did you know that Chase Crawford is GAY?! Well, he is I saw a picture of him making out with a guy. I was devistated since I planned out our whole wedding to find out he's leaving me for a guy. But, I wasn't that sad because I'm already married to Joe Jonas. Hahah Joe was my New Years kiss. I walked ALL the way over to my bedroom and kissed a HUGE poster of him. I was pretty happy with my choice. And YES the Jobro's ARE the perfect package =]
