Ah, yes, it's true. Acute Laryngitis has come to nestle itself cozily into my life. Not really a very big deal, I'm home alone. I'm not much of a 'talk-to-a-water-bottle' type of person, so my inflamed vocal chords are getting plenty of rest.
My all around amazing best friend, Kayla, sent me an enlightening text when I gave her the news.
I quote:
"Oh my goodness. It's all the singing Ashlee."
Yeah, 6 years of friendship is a beautiful thing.
The whole new pajama thing really isn't of any importance. My mommy was nice enough to buy me some while she was shopping for herself last night, and they are incredibly warm. :)
Last night was Wednesday, which means I was in church with my youth group, learning about something sweet. Last night we focused on 'Leaps of Faith'.
Basically, it all went back to the story of Peter walking on water. Some days we wake up and we're in a good place with ourselves and our God (We don't realize often enough that those go hand in hand) and we have all the faith in the world in Him and what He can do. But then, life throws us curve balls, and like Peter, we slowly start to lose our faith. We think the conditions have changed, but they never do. We need to work daily to get it through our imperfect little heads that God has it all under control.
Sometimes, I wish Jesus could look at me like he did Peter and say;
"Oh, faint of heart, what got into you?"
How would that be for a reality check.
Until then, leading by faith not sight it is :)
Now, it's time to catch up on some Cashmere Mafia, Life of Ryan and Gossip Girl.
(I know, that New Years resolution failed, but hey, I'm still staying updated.)
xoxo-
Devin
